Vino is passionate about the role of individuals and collaboration in the drive for implementing social change for good. Her commitment to nation building may be best illustrated in her role as South African National Ambassador of World Speech Day and Ambassador for Junior Chamber International (JCI); where she promotes and drives Active Citizenship.
As owner of Digital Marketing Edge SA, she has delivered conventional and digital marketing solutions to many not-for-profits; with the latter generating a greater online global footprint. She has also offered digital marketing services to entrepreneurs to secure a firm presence in the digital sphere. Prior to this, Vino was employed at a foreign mission and at leading blue chip companies.
She has a Masters Degree in Geography specialising in Destination Marketing and Local Economic Development (2000) and a Postgraduate Programme in Marketing Management (2006). She is a Distinguished Toastmaster (2017) and a Google Partner (2017-2018).
Her current role as South Africa Day's Spokesperson and Head of Special Projects dovetails the opportunity to hone in on her accumulated skills and experience; and South Africa Day's vision for nation building in our country.
Barend la Grange
Barend la Grange is the Chief Operations Officer of South Africa Day and is responsible for spearheading several South Africa Day mega projects viz. the South Africa Day Towns Makeover Initiative.
In his previous role as Deputy CEO of Citizens in Partnership with Government (CPG), Barend’s passion and active involvement in nation- building, social cohesion and reconciliation saw him drive numerous projects including that of the RSA Flag Restoration Project on R24 (Albertina Sisulu Rd) - a partnership between CPG and the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport.
Chris is the Executive Chairman and CEO of Impact Investment Africa, a registered Asset Manager headquartered in Botswana.
Previously, in a career that spanned 17 years, Chris was a Senior Financial Economist at Absa Capital and then the Chief Strategist at Investment Solutions. He had a brief stint at Standard Bank Wealth and Investment as their Global Market Strategist. After leaving Standard Bank, he joined the Leapfrog Group where he remains a non-executive director. In 2017, he set up Impact Investment Africa.
His main research focus has been the effects of economic and political factors on financial markets. This scope involved both South African and global financial markets. The implications of economic and political factors on investment performance has been another key focus area. Chris also has extensive experience in asset allocation and portfolio management.
As a commentator on market and economic issues, Chris is well renowned for sharing his analysis in the media. He is also a sought-after speaker at conferences where he has presented numerous papers both in South Africa and Internationally.
In 2014, Chris co-authored a book entitled ‘Half Way There’ with Glenn Silverman, which outlined the findings of research trips made to the five BRICS countries, their relationships with the rest of the world, and the investment prospects from a long-term perspective.
Chris is a former volunteer with St John Ambulance Brigade where he was the South African Commander.
