FAQs
Everything you need to know
1. You need to establish a Steering Committee.
- The Steering Committee should be made up of representatives of key stakeholders in the community such as such as churches, schools, businesses, and other groups or formations that exist in the community, town, or city.
- The Steering Committee can also form subcommittees that will perform specific tasks such as the coordination of cleaning and beautification activities with the local municipality; marketing and promotion of the initiative; organizing of local events to support and sustain the initiative, etc.
2. There must be clear roles and responsibilities of the Steering Committee, and these are as follows:
- Organise, manage and lead the cleaning and beautification initiatives.
- Develop project plans and budgets for various initiatives.
- Provide financial and project reports.
- Foster a positive working relationship with the local municipalities.
- Establish strong marketing and communication platforms for the cleaning and beautification initiatives.
- Provide feedback reports to sponsors and partners – as may be required from time to time.
3.Every stakeholder representative serving on the Steering Committee will be required to outline the contribution that they wish to make and/or the role that they would play in the cleaning and beautification initiatives. This can be achieved through the establishment of task teams from within the structures that they represent, which would provide advice on this.
A Steering Committee is composed of individuals, organizations, groups, and institutions from within a specific community, serving as its representatives.
